When traveling to another country, it is possible to get caught up with all of the excitement and forget about all of the good habits you made before your trip. If you have noticed your clothing getting a little tight with all of the delicious Costa Rican food, have no fear, there are places to workout here!
Diamond Gym is about three blocks East of Veritas and makes for the perfect place to get your body moving. It is open from 5 AM to 9:30 PM Monday to Friday, so students can easily find some time in the week for cardio around busy class schedules. Also, it is open on Saturdays 8 AM to 4 PM, and Sundays from 9 AM to 2 PM.
A student discount ensures you won’t break the bank on getting a monthly membership either! For a month, it costs 18,000.00 colones, or about $36.00. They also offer classes such as Spinning, Cardio Dance, Kick Boxing and more that are included in the membership. To drop in without the membership, classes cost 3,500.00 colones, or $7.00. And they are worth it! Instructors are fun and make sure you are getting the workout you paid for. If you feel inclined, you can also pay to work with the personal trainers who are also very nice.
The gym itself is decent size with free weights and machines, cardio equipment, and a squat rack. There are lockers to put your things in, but you need to purchase a lock, and they do not sell them there. The dressing rooms downstairs have showers with hot water.
Convenient location, doable price, equipment in good shape, and friendly staff make Diamond Gym the perfect place to workout while on your trip to Costa Rica.
