I went to Manuel Antonio this past weekend with a group of fifteen friends from Veritas. It was incredible! If you have not gone yet, I encourage you to do so. It was hands down my favorite weekend trip in Costa Rica yet.
We took the public bus from San Jose to Manuel Antonio and arrived on Friday afternoon quite easily. We stayed at Vista Serena, a hostel between Quepos and Manuel Antonio. It was very inexpensive and had a beautiful view; however, there were soooo many bugs and it was very hot. We went grocery shopping and saved a lot of money on food.
The next morning we went to the national park around 8:00 am. The entrance fee is $16 dollars and it was totally worth it. We spent six hours in the park and went to four different beaches. We saw monkeys, sloths, butterflies, iguanas, and lizards.
On Sunday we spent the day on the public beach and it as beautiful. I climbed some of the rocks on the bluff and witnessed a gorgeous view. We got ice cream and hair wraps from a local vendor as well. The people at the beach were very genuine and friendly and it was cool to talk to the vendors and meet different ticos who live in Manuel Antonio. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend.
